Perspective changes everything. Last weekend Shari and I made our first visit to Dunn’s Mountain. After walking the quarter mile to the top, at an elevation of 1,010 feet, it is not really a mountain, but we enjoyed the 360 degree view of the surrounding region. We really had no idea of what we were looking at when the Park Ranger, Joe, asked if we had been there before. He proceeded to point out landmarks in every direction; the Uwharrie Mountains, Pilot Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway and with the aid of a telescope we could see downtown Salisbury, Winston Salem and the skyline of Charlotte some 45 miles away.
None of those sights were visible from the parking lot, but a thousand feet in elevation, some information and a telescope and we could see so much more than we had ever expected. We went “up the mountain” expecting to see a nice view of fall foliage, were we ever surprised!
We get so caught up in our struggles and challenges in our day to day living that our perspective gets limited. It may be the mountain in front of us that is blocking our view of the miracle God has for us. Clear your perspective and ask God to show you the things He desires for you to see through His eyes.
Remember, a change of perspective can change everything!
