This week as we many of us have worked through the Emotionally Healthy Spirituality discipleship course, and as we have learned more about Traveling Light, our current sermon series, we have been reminded that we are only passing through this world, this is not our final destination, that is Heaven.
I have flown on commercial airlines many times. I always prefer a nonstop flight whenever possible, but sometimes it just isn’t possible so you have to take a connecting flight. I have been in some really nice airports and some that didn’t offer much besides a well used chair and a small store with a small selection of premade sandwiches. But the airport is not my destination, it is just a place that I have to pass through to get to where I am going.
God has an incredible life for us to live out while we are in this world, I hope that you are living that life, if not ask for the Lord’s help. He came to give us life and to give it more abundantly. However, our ultimate destination is eternity with the Lord, and that is going to be beyond description. This life is a “dress rehearsal” for eternity so while we are here we are not just passing time; we live, we learn, we grow, we love God and we love those that God has placed in the world around us. We seek to influence people for Jesus and lead all those that we can to Him.
May we continue to learn to travel light as we grow in Jesus and our impact in the world around us.
