It is privilege to worship with you today as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
In a recent quote, Foursquare President Glenn Burris said, “The celebration of Christmas around the world is a reminder of the power of what fulfilling your promises will do. God said He would send us a Savior and He did.”
This is what Christmas is all about, God’s promise being fulfilled, a promise He made because we were in desperate need of a Savior. We cannot save ourselves, so God made a promise, a Savior that would be the answer to the sin of man. That Savior came as a baby, born the most humble of births, lived life just as we do experiencing hunger, pain, rejection, temptation and so much more, so that He could give His life on a Roman cross as a sinless sacrifice for you and me.
As the news commentator Paul Harvey used to say, “Now for the rest of the story…” That Savior is coming again as a conquering King to deliver His people and put an end to wickedness and evil and those that practice it rejecting Him as their Savior.
I am thankful to serve a God who not only makes a promise, but keeps that promise. He is a God who can be trusted to keep ALL of His promises!
