Good morning and welcome to World Hope Worship Center! If you are reading this in the bulletin on Sunday morning December 9, it means that the weather forecasters missed their predictions for the snow storm. I have often heard that our region is very difficult for winter weather forecasting. I remember growing up it seemed that when the “weatherman” forecasted snow, it never snowed and when there was no snow in the forecast we got lots of snow. The weather forecasters are probably the only people I know of that can be wrong more times than right and still keep their job.
As I thought about forecasting and predicting the future, I thought about God’s prophetic messages throughout the Bible. Jesus was the fulfillment of God’s promise of a Savior for the world, every prophecy regarding His birth, life and death was fulfilled. There remains the prophecy about the Lord’s return, His Second Coming, that is yet to be fulfilled. Unlike the weather forecasters, God’s prediction will come to pass. Jesus has come, as that baby in the manger and He is coming again, as the conquering king!
As we watch and wait for the coming snowstorm, may we also be vigilant to watch and wait for Jesus’ return!
