As signs of new life are all around us I pray that the Lord will touch each of our lives with a fresh dose of His grace and mercy. This week as I prayed for our church family I asked the Lord for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our lives and hearts. There are times when we are running this race that we need encouragement, fresh energy, refocusing and renewal. If you find yourself at one of those times in your life and walk with the Lord then this verse may be for you:
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31).
The promise sounds great, but the condition is a bit more complex. I don’t want to wait, for anyone or anything. Many times in life we are called upon to wait. Whether it is waiting for an appointment, waiting for the arrival of spring, waiting for results from a medical test, waiting is a part of life. We don’t wait on the Lord because He is tardy, we are generally waiting for His timing to come to pass. Waiting is hard, but it can be so rewarding. As the chorus goes, “Teach me Lord to wait.”
Wait on the Lord; He has a great blessing in store for you, just you wait and see!
