Hello and welcome to World Hope! I am excited for the opportunity to worship the Lord together today. As we fellowship, pray, worship and share God’s Word, my prayer is that each of us experience the power of God’s love, mercy and grace in our lives.
As we enter this season of holiday celebration, especially the coming weeks of Thanksgiving, I am reminded of God’s faithfulness. We take so much in life for granted: the lights will come on when we flip the switch, the car will start when we turn the key, the water will flow when we turn on the faucet, we will wake up in the morning, there will be food to eat at meal time, etc. etc. etc.
But we often fail to contemplate the fact the God has been, is and will continue to be faithful. He is true to His promises and will never be slack in keeping them. We may take God’s faithfulness for granted, but He will never change. He is there for us when we need Him and He is there for us when we think we can go it on our own. David said it well when he writes in Psalm 37:25, “I have been young, and now am old; yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging for bread.”
There are times when our world seems to be spinning out of control and we just hope to hold on until we can get off. Even in those times God is faithful. When all around us feels like sinking sand, we can put our trust and confidence in the Lord, He is faithful
In the coming days we will be challenged by family, friends, ministers and others to count our blessings, express our attitudes of gratitude and other exercises to get us ready for “Thanksgiving;” I would like to challenge you to take some time simply to think about the many ways God has proven His faithfulness to you over the course of the past few days, weeks, years. As you recognize and celebrate God’s faithfulness may a heart of thanksgiving rise up within you.
Great is His faithfulness!
