Good morning and welcome to World Hope Worship Center!
Today as we come together to worship the Lord, fellowship with friends, share God’s Word and pray for one another, may we be encouraged to continue to do the “right things” in life as we seek the Lord and grow closer to Him. During January we have been talking about how we share the hope of Jesus with those that God has placed in our lives. We have talked about how we share hope through prayer, through our relationships and today I want to talk about sharing hope through our spiritual growth. Growing in our relationship with Jesus should be non-negotiable; growing as a disciple of Jesus should be non-negotiable as well. However, for many Christians it has become very negotiable and often totally neglected. Somehow we have been led to believe that getting saved is enough, and it is if your only goal is to escape hell and get a ticket into heaven. That is not the life that Jesus intended for His followers.
Jesus calls us to salvation and then He calls us to Himself, to be His disciple, to be like Him, as the Apostle Paul would write in Romans 8:29, “to be conformed to the image of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. That is what we will be talking about today, as we become more like Jesus, grow as His disciple, others will see the hope we have in Jesus and they will have the opportunity to receive that hope as they see us live like Jesus in the way we conduct our lives from day to day.
