Hello and welcome to World Hope Worship Center!
The Christmas season is winding down, the parties, food, presents and decorations will be over in the coming days, if not already. Christmas day while at my dad’s house with the family, I noticed his neighbor’s Christmas tree was already at the side of the road to be picked up by the garbage collectors. I thought about how quickly we transition from one season to the next, overnight. The retail industry is a classic example of how rapidly we go from one season to the next, I am sure that the remaining Christmas decorations have been removed from their prominent display and stuck in a corner or shopping cart for quick sale. They have likely been replaced with the next seasonal emphasis.
There are a number of the Psalms that use the word “Selah.” It is an ancient Hebrew phrase or expression that meant to pause, stop, rest, take time to reflect and contemplate. In the rapid paced world in which we live, there is not much room for “Selah” moments in our lives. As we wind down 2019 and start a brand New Year, may we all be reminded to take a little time and practice “Selah” in our daily lives. The seasons of life change quickly enough without us hurrying the process.
